Today, the 12th of April, is recognised as National Pet Day in Australia!
As a veterinary clinic and hospital, all of our Torquay Animal House Vet staff are lucky enough to each have animal, as well as human, families at home with us.
Choosing to follow a career path into the animal care and veterinary industry stems broadly from a love of animals, but also usually reflects on an upbringing with some very special personal pets being cared for along the way.
From Nurse Jessica’s love of all things horses and her beloved Maltipoo dog, to Dr Lara and her adoration of the beagle breed, the varieties and breeds of animals represented by Torquay Animal House Vet staff is broad!
We have our husky representatives with Nurse Deb, our long haired feline friends with Nurse Steph, our Jack Russel Terriers (nee Terrorists) owned by both Dr Denis and now Dr Billy, our resident Golden Retriever queen Dr Kate and our mix of black-haired working dog breeds parented by Dr Jess (who is also an equine fan).
Then we have our Boston Terrier girls in Nurse Jade and Student Nurse Taliya, our Border Collie fans again with Nurse Jade and also Nurse Jessica, the Murray River Retriever ambassador Nurse Shannon, the most well known Border Terrier lover in all of Torquay, Nurse Ann, as well as our rescue bitzer aficionados Nurse Molly and Dr Mark and admin Emma, who also have a passion for kelpies, mini ponies and along with Nurse Jess, goats! We also have our giant dog breed (and oodle) fan Nurse Nyah and our other most devoted cat enthusiasts Nurse Jasmine with her domestic short haired, Nurse Ann with her Abyssinians and admin Darina with a love for every feline under the sun.
Some of our past staff have also had greyhounds, whippets, corgi’s and birds among many other breeds and species! We are certainly a varied bunch here at Torquay Animal House Vets, but one thing we all have in common, is our absolute love of our pets 🤍
