I grew up in Hobart, Tasmania and following completion of my veterinary science degree in Sydney in 2007 I worked in a large mixed practice in Mount Gambier, SA.
I then pursued my interest in equine work to an internship at an equine specialist hospital. A couple of years down the track I took another career change into companion animal practice, and made the ‘sea change’ to Torquay.
Having met my husband here in Torquay we have made it our home and have 2 daughters now.
I love my job at Torquay Animal House!! The dedication of each and every staff member to providing the best possible care to your beloved pets, and the pure enthusiasm for veterinary medicine and client/patient care is so inspiring.
My main areas of interest are dermatology, internal medicine and emergency/critical care and I love reading Veterinary textbooks and attending continuing education courses. I enjoy getting to know clients, their pets and families, and then being able to provide personalized care tailored to every individual pet and client’s needs. I am passionate about protecting and promoting the human-animal bond by empowering clients through education to optimise their pet’s life and health.
I have a Golden Retriever called Jilly, and Mabel the ‘naughty tortie’ Burmese Cat. My first Goldie Sadie, lives on in my heart and also in the photos on the front of the clinic.
Outside of work I enjoy swimming, mountain bike riding, going to the gym and getting out and about to enjoy our beautiful Surf Coast environment.
