It is past time to start featuring the young stars we see here at Torquay Animal House Vets in our news section!
Our wonderful and talented Nurse, Deb has been the Torquay Animal House Vets Puppy Pre-School Trainer for a few years now, but some of you may not know that she is qualified to train these pups, beyond her training of Veterinary Nurse. Deb holds the qualifications of: Australian Veterinary Behaviour Services – Puppy Preschool, Cert IV in Canine Training and Behaviour – Delta Institute and Professional Member of Pet Professional Guild Australia. Deb’s upskilling in behavioural training has added an exciting new aspect to Puppy Pre-School here at our Torquay Animal House vet hospital as well as to the wider Torquay community.
In addition to the Puppy Pre-School classes running at Torquay Animal House Vets premises, Deb also offers the next step of Foundation Training “Primary School” after puppies graduate “Pre-School”. As dog owners will know, the training never stops! And sometimes more work is needed for those clever little brains, beyond the socialisation and more basic commands that are best suited to their learning stage as Pre-School aged puppies.

Now, onto the graduates for the month of May!
This round of Puppy Pre-School Graduates featured a variety of fun and adorable breeds. We had Kowhai the Border Terrier, Rosie the Cobberdog, Moose the Cavoodle, Bozley the Boxer and Leslie the Border Collie! What a mix of types! Deb tries to cater the classes based on size, so we do sometimes run “small breed” and “big breed” classes separately to ensure a positive and safe experience for all pups.
